SELF-GUIDED TOUR OF CHEVERNY CASTLE

This private château, open to visitors since 1922, has belonged to the same family for over six centuries: the Huraults, a family of financiers and officers who distinguished themselves in the service of several kings of France. A perfect example of Grand Siècle architecture, it is one of the first châteaux designed to be lived in all year round. Visitors can explore the magnificently furnished rooms, which bear witness to the French art of living; there is also a self-guided tour of the ornamental and leisure garden, which stretches between the château and the Orangery.
