The Blois-Chambord region is historically renowned for its Loire Valley châteaux. The kings were certainly right to choose this area: the river is a source of food, a transport route and a hub for many craft trades that require abundant water. You are here in the land of the Kings of France, as you will see as you follow the Loire; the monuments rise from the natural landscape to enhance the panoramic views: Blois, Chaumont-sur-Loire, Amboise and the many private residences such as the Château de Ménars.
Chambord Castle forms an integral part of the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, even though it lies 5 km from the river’s banks.
