SELF-GUIDED TOUR OF CHENONCEAU CASTLE
Since the 16th century, the château’s silhouette has been majestically reflected in the waters of the Cher. A paragon of Renaissance beauty, enhanced by its French formal gardens, this charming château owes everything to the women in its history! Built by Katherine Briçonnet, embellished by Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de’ Medici, and saved from the Revolution by Madame Dupin… it deserves the name history has given it: the ‘Château des Dames’.
