GUIDED TOUR OF BLOIS’S FORMER BOATMEN’S QUARTER
Discover the banks of the Loire in Blois on foot along the boatmen’s trail. Ladders and flood marks on the houses (1846, 56 and 66), harbours, old bridges, streets named after a boat or a traditional Loire trade, ex-votos in Saint Saturnin’s Church recounting the flood of 1846 and the ice jam of 1716, man-made structures (embankments, dykes) to protect against flooding – all these are authentic signs and symbols that allow you to follow in the footsteps of the boatmen.
