DAY 1

SELF-GUIDED TOUR OF CHAUMONT-SUR-LOIRE CASTLE

Set in the heart of landscaped grounds, Chaumont Castle overlooks the Loire from a height of around forty metres. It was once owned by Catherine de’ Medici in 1552 and by her rival, Diane de Poitiers. In 1875, the Princes of Broglie acquired it and transformed it into a truly princely residence. You will conclude your tour with a visit to the 19th-century stables, considered at the time to be the most luxurious and modern in Europe.

SELF-GUIDED TOUR OF THE INTERNATIONAL GARDEN FESTIVAL

Every year, around twenty teams of landscape architects from around the world present their interpretation of the theme chosen by the estate. Their designs often offer an original and unexpected take on the theme, incorporating flowers, materials, water, trees and foliage.

GUIDED TOUR OF THE ROYAL CASTLE OF BLOIS

The first must-see site in the Loire Valley, the Royal Castle of Blois offers a comprehensive overview of the architecture and history of the Loire castles. In the castle’s courtyard, the entire chronology of the kings is depicted across the four façades. The colourful and ornate interiors offer a different perspective on the lives of their illustrious owners, such as Louis XII, François I, Henri III and Catherine de’ Medici.

SELF-GUIDED TOUR OF CHEVERNY CASTLE

This private château, which has been open to visitors since 1922, has belonged to the same family for over six centuries: the Huraults, a family of financiers and officers who distinguished themselves in the service of several kings of France. A perfect example of Grand Siècle architecture, it is one of the first châteaux designed to be lived in all year round. Visitors can explore its magnificently furnished rooms, which bear witness to the French art of living; Self-guided tour of the ornamental and pleasure garden, which stretches between the château and the Orangery.

VISIT TO A WINE ESTATE IN COUR-CHEVERNY AND WINE TASTING

Benoit Daridan, a winegrower, welcomes you to his family-run 21-hectare estate in Cour-Cheverny, situated between the châteaux of Cheverny and Chambord. A one-hour introductory tour that will immerse you in the heart of the estate, where tradition and modernity blend. This shared experience will conclude with a wine tasting.

Set in the heart of a forest teeming with game, the château offers you a moment of relaxation and an exceptional experience.
