SELF-GUIDED TOUR OF CHAUMONT-SUR-LOIRE CASTLE AND THE INTERNATIONAL GARDEN FESTIVAL
Set in the heart of a landscaped park, the Château de Chaumont overlooks the Loire and the charming village on the banks of the river. Formerly owned by Catherine de’ Medici in 1552 and her rival Diane de Poitiers, the Princess de Broglie acquired it in 1875 and transformed it into a truly modern princely residence.
Every year, around twenty teams of landscape designers from across the globe present their interpretation of the theme chosen by the estate. The result is often an original and unexpected expression, crafted using flowers, materials, water, trees and foliage.
