The programme of the holiday

DAY 1

10.00 am

GUIDED TOUR OF CHEVERNY CASTLE AND ITS GARDENS

It is one of the most elegant châteaux in the Loire Valley. From its perfectly symmetrical architecture to its interiors, which are furnished as if the château were still inhabited. And with good reason: the Hurault family has been enriching it with art collections ever since it was built.

11.30 am

WINE TASTING AT THE MAISON DES VINS DE CHEVERNY

An introduction to the Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny AOCs by the oenologist, followed by an original and innovative tasting of four wines.

12.30

LUNCH AT THE RESTAURANT

3.00 pm

GUIDED TOUR OF CHÂTEAU DE CHAMBORD

In the heart of this game-rich forest stands the magnificent Château de Chambord, built by François I.
Inside the rooms, newly restored areas such as the King’s Bedchamber and Molière’s Theatre offer visitors a glimpse into daily life at court. In the French formal gardens, admire the symmetry and the intricate patterns, such as the fleurs-de-lis in the flowerbeds.

GUIDED TOUR OF THE ROYAL CASTLE OF BLOIS

The castle’s architectural ensemble reveals the history of the castle and its successive owners, the Kings of France. Centuries of history, detailed within the rooms, recount the castle’s key moments, such as the assassination of the Duke of Guise. Thanks to the 19th-century restoration work, the colours have been restored, enhancing our understanding of the tastes of yesteryear.

12.00

LUNCH AT A RESTAURANT IN BLOIS

A quarter of a bottle of wine

2.15 pm

SELF-GUIDED TOUR OF THE HOUSE OF MAGIC

A temple to modern magic, which originated in the 19th century, the exhibits trace the astonishing life of Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin and the entire history of magic across the globe. Rooms dedicated to optical illusions and tricks promise moments of laughter. In the theatre, a magic show will follow, with a new theme each year.
