The Loire Valley Castles by Bike

From Blois, you can also explore the landscapes along the banks of the Loire via the ‘Loire à Vélo’ cycle route, and the landscapes of Sologne and Beauce via the 15 ‘Châteaux de la Loire à Vélo’ circular routes.

Nearly 500 kilometres of paths, cycle tracks and country lanes have been planned, designed, signposted and made safe for you. Whether you’re aged 7 or 77, at your own pace and as the mood takes you, you can take the time to cycle and explore, at your leisure, the prestigious sites of Chambord, Cheverny and Chaumont-sur-Loire, as well as the villages along the Loire.

There are 15 circular routes available, ranging from 8 to 32 km, including a section of the ‘Loire à Vélo’ cycle route. These routes, with alternative options, are designed for families and are widely accessible to all.

Cycling along the Loire

This route, which is exceptional due to its location along the banks of the Loire, takes you through the region for 60 km, offering a variety of landscapes as you move from one bank to the other. Much of the route follows a specially designated cycle path or roads with very little traffic. As you cycle along, you can stop off in the villages along the Loire, visit the Maison de la Loire or set off on a boat trip.
